  • The intensity of problems faced by children during the lock-down increases manifolds for children with disabilities. Children with deafness always struggle to fit into their families due to lack of/no communication. There are 4 Million+ deaf kids who attend special schools in India. Their only avenue for a social life is at school, with friends and teachers. The common set of problems seen in deaf kids are, high anxiety, unawareness about COVID-19, victims of violence, depression, risk of dropping out of schools etc.

Parents’ helpless state of Poverty, illiteracy, lack of awareness, unavailability of resources etc. multiplies the severity of these issues.

There is a strong need of accessibility and technology support to continue the education of these special students. The urgent demand is being communicated by school teachers and parents. There very less support for children with special needs and it's a unique opportunity for organisations to come together and serve this marginalised group of kids.
